| Health and safety issues are some of the most important for our members, and CUPW Kelowna Local 760 is committed to providing information and assistance in coping with the challenges RSMC and Urban Operations members are facing with duty to accomodate, WCB claims, and Manulife Financial/Canada Post disability management policies. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers national website has several very good bulletins and articles that members should refer to, and most of our information for this section of our website comes from the national office. This site is under construction, and we are adding information on a regular basis, however we would like members to submit their concerns and interests with regard to health and safety using email, and or personally contacting their respective representatives within the local so that we are aware of everyone's concerns. It is very important for members to document incidents and problems occurring in the workplace, and have someone support your experience as a witness, then bring this to the attention of the Union! Canada Post, Manulife, and the WCB have very aggressive policies that extend into your life away from work also, so protect yourself from harassing interviews and infringement on your personal privacy by reading the articles and bulletins that have been prepared for us, and fill out the appropriate paperwork when applicable, and submit it as soon as possible to the respective parties. In the short term this section of the site will host some articles that are germane to health and safety for all Canada Post employees, and in the long term we hope to have articles and documents specific to our offices in the Kelowna area. |
